U R what U eat

ArtCare has recently completed a healthy eating animation project with Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop Primary school.

Workshops took place at the school over a number of weeks during the summer term. Pupils were divided into six groups looking at:

- the five food groups
- healthy menus
- health issues, incl. allergies and food poisoning
- balanced diets
- food labelling
- '5 a day'

Each group researched their topic before storyboarding a sequence for the animation. Some groups chose to work with 3D plasticine models, whilst others manipulated 2D computer graphics to create their animated films. Narration, sound effects, music and titles were also added to complete the final edit.

This Arts for Life Project IV was made possible by a grant from Salisbury District Council.
